" How much did you drink? I think IF we drink it should only be a small amount. The alcohol affects us differently now! "

" I probably had 4 drinks. They tell you no alcohol after surgery but I know that some people can tolerate it but I guess I am not one of them. "

" As far as I've heard and read, we can drink after the surgery, but should wait about 1 year. Our bodies are changed to have malabsorption issues ON PURPOSE, which means, the alcohol goes directly into the blood stream, without a food buffer. We can only successfully drink 1-2 drinks after a year out of surgery....
I haven't tried it yet, I'm waiting. Too many wasted calories for me right now. "

" Oh, I am sorry that it affected you that way! I had several glasses of wine, and other than a headache today (lol), I felt fine. There have been times, though, where alcohol didn't sit well with me. Part of it is what you are doing, also. We had a huge party and we were playing horseshoes, volleyball and polish horseshoes. And I was running around a lot looking after things. So, maybe activity plays a part in how it goes through your system. Maybe next time it would effect you differently. Hope you are feeling better! " Just tried a drink while on vacation last night. WOW! thick headed, loopy and could not move after 1 to 1 1/2 ounces. YEP, I said ounces! My husband and I were amazed, but I was not able to do anything until the alcohol processed thru my system. It was a strawberry daiquiri and again I only had about 1 inch down in a small glass before it slammed me very hard. Now I know that I cannot drink and expect to do anything but sit in my seat and watch the world spin! "

" I'm a "capsniffer" now. It used to take quite a bit to put me under the table. But now I can just sniff the cap of the bottle and be wasted.

Not good. I can usually only drink about half a beer and get pretty tipsy.

Definately a cheap date now. "

" I'm able to have a vodka on the rocks with lemons and limes but boy oh boy does it make me loopy fast. I'm not touching anything that has sugar ( no pina coladas for me) or carbonation. "
