Hello everyone,
I was reading up the other day about a lady who had a gastric bypass and fell pregnant. It said in her story that she was one of only a few to fall pregnant after a gastric bypass . i never got told that havin this operation would stop you or give you problems when wanting to start a family, could someone give me some advise on this as i would like to start a family real soon. Everyone that I have spoke too Dr's. incleded said that it is ok to get pregnant after the surgery you just have to be closely monitored, which anyone wanting to start a family would want anyway, and they would like you to wait at least a year or so before trying to get pregnant. In many cases weight loss with make it easier to get pregnant. It is healthier for the mom and baby when you start at a healthy weight. In my pre-op classes the MD said that he recommends waiting at least 2 years after GBS to get pregnant.

My doctor was very explicit about how after GBS I'd need birth control. His words were that I'd turn into "Fertile Myrtle."

it's true about being fertile mrytle so you will definitly need birth control but i was told to wait at least 2 years and by then your able to eat a bigger variety of foods.

I don't want anymore kids lol but think about year to 18 mnth is right time to have one after gbs I got told.xxxxx
