I haven't been on in a while, so if this topic was covred recently I appoligize.
I have been taking Citrical Creamy Bites for the last 4-5 months. I ordered them on line. Now I find out that they aren't available any more. I'm really bummed, I loved them. I have also tried Bariatric Advantage lozenges but they are just so-so. So let me ask what you are taking. I'm looking for a good tasting, chewable, calcium citrate. Any suggestions? Someone recommended Citrical Calcium Citrate Petites and while it can be a hassel to take 2 tablets three times a day, they're small enough to take, and they work well. I've liked them a lot and glad someone recommended them to me. They're at Walmart.

Just go to your local grocery or drug store and buy Viactiv chews. The come in all flavors, caramel, chocolate, chocolate cherry, vanilla, orange etc... You just chew three a day.

I did look at the Citrical Calcium Citrate Petites but I can't tell if they are coated or not. My fear is that they will pass through the pouch without breaking down.
The Tropical Oasis Liquid looks promising, I will look into that. I wish I could use the Viactiv chews but notice on the package that they are Calcium Carbonate. It's recommended that we use Calcium Citrate because it is more easily absorbed by bypass patients.

It must absorb, cuz my surgeon told me they were okay to take and I take them three times a day. I'll have my labs redone, but others who are on them have labs that are within normal ranges, so they must absorb okay I'm guessing, or the surgeon's office wouldn'tve recommended them. I went to a surgeon who has been noted to have an above average success rate with his patient's outcomes, so I trust whatever they suggest. I went to Viactiv, but found they are carbonate form and we don't have enough stomach acid to absorb them. It sucks cuz they taste great! I tried liquid calcium and hated it. The taste made me gag (I had pina colada, a flavor I LOVE) and the texture didn't sit well with me. But, I'm hypersensitive to texuture since I was pregnant 5 years ago. LOL. Good luck to you and hope you find something that works!

I buy the Chocolate Rhino Calciums soft calcium chews. You get 75 of them for $5.88 on VitaCost. They have 2 grams sugar, but they are calcium carbonate. I was also told Viactiv was okay by my surgeon's office. I just found that these wer a lot cheaper.
They have 500 mg of Calcium and they have Vitamin D-2 100IU. I eat 2 a day.
