I am a little concerned, I have been doing great until today. I am a little over 2 weeks out, and started on the 'small pieces' phase yesterday.

I woke up, and had some yogurt to take my first antibiotic, had some water. Waited like an hour, cut up a half oz of ham steak, went down fine. I took a shower, waited like 45 minutes, then had some water with Miralax in it. I felt really bad all of the sudden, and thought I was going to throw up, but I ended up spitting up really bad. I waited, and thought maybe it was the ham or the Miralax.

I had to take my steroid pills, so I had that with yogurt, that went down just fine. I had some water that went down fine a little while after that. I was concerned that I wasn't going to get in all the fluids and protein at this rate so I had 6 oz of pure isopure.

An hour later I had a mini baby bell light cheese and an oz of tuna. I wanted to be extra sure to wait long enough so I went to the store, and returned an hour later. I went to drink some water, and then dry heaved and eventually threw up the water- but nothing else, it was strangest thing, none of the tuna or anything else came up, just the water. A lot of the time I get the feeling with the water I need to burp, but when this happened, it hurt.

I know I am waiting long enough to drink water, why isn't it staying down? I am eating slowly, and chewing quit a bit. Why is the food fine, but not water? I need to take my 2nd antibiotic and a stool softer, since the Miralax isn't going down. I am getting concerned at this point, as this doesn't seem normal for me.

" Ashley - can you be more specific about your slow cooker chicken recipe? You wrote "(amazing- chicken cutlets, chicken broth, and spices, high for 4 hrs, low for 4, shreds like no other and is very moist)".

What spices did you use? "

" It's 1 package of chicken cutlets (not sure one the lb, I got it from Publix) they were frozen (some people don't feel you should use frozen meat in a crockpot, I guess I live dangerously), 2 cups low sodium chicken broth (you'll add more as the time goes by) and spice wise it's cumin, chili pepper, lemon pepper (I put way too much of that), mustard powder, and a squeeze of lime juice. Spice wise in reality you could put just about anything. I don't measure but I would think in total there is about 1/8 cup in total. and taste throughout and add more seasoning. After 4 hours on high, take it out and shred with a fork, then put on low for 4 hours, it will do the rest of the shredding by itself. There are many variations on this, adding onions, potatoes, carrots, and other root veggies. "

" Sounds like your doctor knows what he's doing. It stinks that you don't like mao. I used it a lot to moisten meat. Do you like lite sour cream or Greek yogurt? Sounds a little weird, but I used to use them with meat quite a bit to help moisten things. Cottage cheese was my “go to” meal because it always went down easy. You just need to make sure you are getting enough dense protein to keep you full.

Keep up the good fight!! It is so worth it!

" I am in the fix I am today many years after my GB surg. because of anti-inflammatory meds even OTC. I was taking Feldene and steriod shots for my back. I took these for years without one dr. saying "Hey you aren't supposed to take those if you have had GB." They would say "Wow, you take those even with your ulcer--they are tough on the stomach." Finally my latest surgeon, whose specializes in bariatrics couldn't believe I was taking such meds and after much testing told me they were the culprits behind many of my problems. So you might check into that... Call your dr.if it continues-- do not wait to get dehydrated. Take care of yourself and stay aggressive and positive on your care. It is your body and even though it is changing...you are still the expert on it and know when something isn't right. Be good to yourself...it is a long journey but worh it :) "

" I think at two weeks I was on strained food - I would go easy on your pouch. "
