I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op and I think I'm drinking my water too slowly because I can't seem to get it all in. How much (ouncewise) should I be able to swallow and how often? Right now I probably sip 1/2 oz and wait 3-5 minutes before my next sip but then I have the wait time before and after meals/snacks....seems I have too much down time on water. Any ideas?? Appreciate your help/advice.

You can sip more than you are now so long as you dont take in too much. Keep in mind protien shakes, soup, fruit and any other liquid or water-rich foods count as liquid intake. I take my water bottle with me everywhere I go. I have found sipping while driving and exercising really gets it done. When I was at your stage, it was still taking some trial-and-error to get it right. Dont stress and keep plugging away - you will find what works best for you.

Yeah.... where you are on the liquids and only being 2 1/2 weeks out....will take some time for you to find the best way to get your fluids in. I was 2 weeks out when I drank my water to fast and I had dumping syndrome. NO fun!!! Anything liquid counts as your fluid intake so be sure to count those....even pop cycles, protein drinks, yogart count as liquids too.

Be patient this will get easier as the weeks go by. Don't try to force yourself. I found it impossible to drink enough my first few months. I do find that drinking is more comfortable when the liquid is not too cold.
