Hi, I just found this site and really need some information. I had gbs about 2 months ago, mine was not for wieght loss, I had a gastric outlet obstruction that caused my stomach to distend so much that it quit working, I was in the hospitall for 40 days before they decided what to do with me. Either my doc is not a wealth of information or I dont know the questions to ask. I never got to have a talk with a dietition, so I dont know how or what to eat, I see here that most everyone is on some sort of vit supplement, what should I be taking? I cant drink milk anymore, does anyone else have this problem? Should I be getting a B-12 shot every month? I started out at a healthy wieght but am now down to just over 100lbs and am starting to scare myself. The only thing my doc says is "I dont want you to lose any more wieght", but doesnt tell me how NOT to loose anymore . I know you all are the experts so any advice will be welcome. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day

Hello and welcome.
PLEASE post this also in the regular discussion part of the forum so more people see it. You need a lot of support and info and you'll get it. The most practical thing I can think of is to make sure you are drinking WHILE eating, so as to wash down the food faster and you can eat sooner. The opposite of what we would typically want to do with wls, but you need to gain weight, therefore you need to break the rules some. Eat calorie/carb dense foods for awhile see if that helps. You seem to need a doc who is more supportive and educational as he doesn't seem to be helping you much. I'd search for at least a pcp who is more wls savvy. As far as vitamins go, if your blood levels are ok with nutrients, stick to whatever you're doing for now. But personally I'd recommend celebrate vitamins at celebratevitamins.com I believe it is. I wish I could be more help but I'm just embarking on this journey. Please copy/paste this to the main discussion board. Hugs, Kimberley
