" Hi AA, If you are on a protein diet, breakfast could be eggs wih some salsa(to give it a little something) or cottage cheese. You will need to be sure you are getting water. As for headaches you probably need more protein. There are protein shakes at Vitamin World etc.. that have 35 grams of protein. They are in a can with pop top. Try drinking one slowly thru the day. Good Luck! "

" AA you're almst thereYea! I was told to eat a high protein diet until 2 days before surgery 60 to 80 grams and drink 64 plus water. My cousin on her two week diet was Gucerna and water. The nutrionist should have told you what you could have if you aren't for sure call him or her. No cafine if you are use to drinking cafine and you quit all the suden you will get withdrawal symtoms also not having sugar if you use to have sugar. just a few sugestions I'm 7wks post op and have ahard time getting enough protein. Those headaches will or should go away. Hang in there you'll make it. "

" AAFluff324; You need to check with your doctor if you're not sure what you should be eating. i was only on my pre-op for two days and couldn't have anything but broth, water and sugar free jello. You want to make sure your liver has shrank when it's time to go in for your surgery! "

" I just went through this, and let me tell you that ALL pre-op diets are different! I had to do 2 protein shakes a day, and then one meal with 4oz of lean protein, veggies, and a salad. Eggs are great for breakfast, and if you are looking for protein, try a slice of low-fat swiss cheese, it will really help the protein add up! If you don't mind me asking are you getting it done in Philly (I see that is where you are from)? I just got gastric bypass done 2weeks ago at Crozer-chester medical center, right around philly! Good luck with everything! "
