" I had a lot of very loose stools early after surgery. Until you are back on solid foods, this may happen frequently, but hopefully not while you are asleep!! HOW AWFUL!!! But, during the day, I wouldn't be too far away from the toilet after a meal! Seriously! It does get better as time goes on! I promise!!

Hugs,
Charlene "

" I would speak to your surgeon or nutritionist. It may be you actually NEED more solid food to balance your system out. Another thought: are you taking any meds from before surgery which could be acting diferently post-op? Some of mine had some pretty weird side effects when taken crushed instead of whole. "

" forgot to add my surgeon only required clear liquids for the time I was in the hospital. I started full liquids as soon as I got home. Thank god, because I was ravenously hungry. "

" I'm 6 days post-op & I pooped my pants TWICE last night. Oh my God, how embarassing is that???? I take Xyrem, which is a heavy sleep med, so I think I just didn't wake up in time to go.
So, I'm a little nervous to take it again tonight. I know exactly what you mean about how many nighties will you ruin? I wear shorts, though. My Dr. said it is ok to add benefiber to your diet. I'm going to speak to her about this this week & add it if it will help w/ the diarhea sp? So, good luck to you & to me. I certainly hope this gets BETTER over time!

" you might want to try a probiotic/acidopholus supplement. It boosts the numbers of beneficial microorganisms in the digestive tract. I get chewable ones at Walgreens, who usually has them on a 2-1 special. "

" Thanks so much to all. Mama was right, it was my meds. I have FM and one of my meds is a muscle relaxer. I have not taken it again and no problems - except - now I cannot sleep, going to get my meds adjusted. Thanks again to all. "

" I had (it went into remission after my GBS) FM too. My surgeon warned me that 'losing it' might happen, and it did a few times. Once I was able to eat solid food it got better....although I guess i should be happy that I never have to worry about getting constipated! hahahaha "
