I have talked to many people on DS who struggle with questions regarding the "What to do and what not to do" after having gastric bypass.. and some seem to be given very limited information or even none (those in Canada seem to not get much) information on what the vitamin requirements are and what to eat at different stages after surgery.
The hospital & clinic that I went to has the entire surgery guideline book that they give to each patient available in pdf format on-line that you can read by clicking the link I am posting at the bottom. Take a look at it to compare notes with what you may already have and use it as a tool when talking to your own doctors about issues you are having or questions before you make the decision to have surgery. It covers everything from "What is gastric bypass and lap-band?" to the requirements for surgery and how to handle insurance and what to ask them as well.
