Hello everybody, I have been working for almost a year now, graduated with a mechanical engineering degree but the sad part is I don’t have any savings in my bank account till now, some of my friends have thousands but I am always broke and in debts. Every time my salary enters I would finish it within days ( 2-3 ) days due to gambling and this really frustrates me. I have been gambling since my university days, I have lost alot even lost half of my tuition fees loan when I was in university and my parents had to help me out. Even today I visited the casino, I really really want to quit gambling for good

" In the title you say you want to control your gambling habits......in the last line of your post you say you want to stop gambling for good....... which one is it? These are two totally different things.

Many of us compulsive gamblers tried to "control" our gambling...... we failed every time.......the very nature of compulsive gambling describes an total inability of the affected person to control gambling of any kind.....once we start, we cannot and do not stop.

Stopping gambling, on the other hand, is possible......many have stopped, stayed stopped, and recovered order and sanity in their lives.

I notice you have an engineering degree....... this tells me that you are relatively intelligent........ it's strange, but most compulsive gamblers tend to be above average intelligence ........however, your intelligence is not going to help you in this battle, you cannot "think" your way free of addiction......those who have tried it, in my experience, have failed.
Gambling addictio is an emotional type of mental disorder, a form of obsessive-compulsive behavior.
Engineering teaches us certain facts that are constant (one plus one equals two, an action produces an equal and opposite reaction, etc.) .....Recovery from addiction doesn't work this way, you're about to discover a whole new set of rules.

There is good news.....you're young.....you can find a solution to this madness and get your life back....you do not need to continue on the path you've been on..... you CAN do something about it......
IF YOU STOP GAMBLING.
I realize that this all sounds kinda confusing today, but if you are painstaking and honest in your efforts you WILL find success.
Welcome to the group......keep in touch.....see what we've done that worked for us.....it'll work for you too. "
