The truth is easier.

I wrote in my journal today to document my 2 yrs of living gambling free.
My head reels to think of how I was feeling 2 yrs ago today, so lost, so frieghtened.

Without gambling my life has improved more than I ever could have imagined 2 yrs ago. Sure, it's gotten easier as far as money goes, and that's good. But it's also become so much more fulfilling.

2 yrs ago nothing mattered to me, nothing was fun anymore, everything was a hassle, and all of that was complicated by my own lies. I lied to myself about the impact my addiction had on others, never realizing the impact it was having on me, as a person.

I'm writing about snippets of the way I'm feeling today, a sense of serenity I've never felt before, combined with a sense of gratitude that amazes and delights me. Some things money can't buy or win, those are the things I'm learning, day by day, to appreciate.

It looks like it's going to rain this morning, it actually looks like night outside. Isn't life beautiful?
