I am 45 years old and i have been a compulsive gambler for about 13 years. I use to take 70 dollars to the casino, now i dare go done there with less than 800_ 1000 dollars. I have done such terrible things to support my addiction. The worst thing besides stealing tons of money from my husband and family, is all the lies! I have 6 beautiful kids and enough is enough.

" howie in response to your comment about dealers that root for you....i am one of those dealers that want my customers to win...I dont know if your aware of this.... dealers only make like $5.00 an hour ....we make our money off of tips...i love to see the money flying out of the tray...now let me really blow your mind ...there are quite a few people that work in the casino business that are also CG's ....myself being one of them...I really dont know how I will recover from this ...but I have to stay strong...you see this is my story...i married very young.. was with my ex-husband for 20 years until he physically abused me for the last time in 2004 ...i had no college education and had 3 young kids to support..so I had to figure out what I could do that could support my kids and keep my house...so I got into dealers class and have been a dealer ever since...well 5 years ago i quit 1 casino to go to work at another one and thats when the gambling started...the old casino I used to work at is where now I and most of my CG co=workers gamble...You would think we would know better but you see the addictions can come over on anyone at anytime...I didn't start gambling until I was 39 years old ..the bad part for me is that I have to somehow seperate myself from this...you see we see people that do win lots of money and we want that to also happen to us...I am very happy to see this site is here for discussion "

" well roxy thats gotta be a hell of a challenge being a cg and still having to be a part of the game. i can see for you more why it would be harder to break away from the game since its tossed into your life style. guess ild be looking for another means of living just to get away from what your faced with. im sure ya never thought your life would turn out like it is just like the rest of us. but try to find another means of living. i cant imagine myself in your shoes and i know we all need to earn a buck to live. but when your giving it back and reaping no rewards from it its time to move on. im sure there those out there that work in the buisness and dont give a cent back into it, but if ya cant why live in the temptation? " Roxxy,

I appreciate and repect your viewpoint, and and have lived it all too well. I used to be a human resource director with major casino company; there are many casino employees who share the same addiction as some of their customers. For those that came forth to seek help, and mind you, that was far and few between-I was responsible for leading them to the resources available to get the help they needed. Never dawned on me that I was sitting in the wrong seat the whole time! I still feel pretty embarrassed about that display of hypocrisy today.

Keep fighting the fight...despite your line of work, right now, I understand where you're coming from...it's okay to be determined to tame this beast. Your job is only a temporary means to a new beginning...I know you possess the conviction! We are here to help! "

" I gambled to ESCAPE! To check the hell out! We'll I checked HELL OUT alright and wound up living there, for years. I've chased losses as well. I finally realized that I could not solve this problem with the same behavior that created it! I still get triggered. More so lately because the consequences of my Compulsive Gambling are now apparent and I have deal with it nevertheless, I continue to tell HELL NO, I won't go. And I don't! By the grace of GOD and determination, today, I'm winning my fight against the demons of this disease that stalk me. Welcome Cathy. You are among people who have been there and done that! I'm praying for you and your children. Keep fighting the good fight of FAITH! God Bless "
