David Copperfield

In the movie version of David Copperfield Mr. Micawber [Played by W.C. Fields] tells David [played by Freddie Bartholomew] "and you will income 30 pounds, and you will expenditure 29 pounds-result happiness. And you will income 30 pounds and you will expenditure 31 pounds- result misery. Which makes me the miserable man you see before you." -I'm snot sure how accurate that is, but it's darn close. I often think of this quote after I've been gambling. It is certainly appropriate. I was reading a post lately where someone talks about crying on the way home. I wonder what it means when you don't cry anymore. You just drive with that grim realization that yes, you did just do it again. So here is another quote that I will shortly be putting into practice
"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no point in being a damn fool about it." -W.C. Fields.
I've tried, tried again. It is about the quitting stage.
I truly look up to everyone here for their successes, and congratulate everyone that has more than a day. You can't get to the second without the first. Your stories truly are inspirational. It gives me [and others] hope.
It's funny, too, that someone said something about getting together or meeting up. It's so funny that I feel so close with you all, and I could pass you in the street and I wouldn't know it. It would be so cool if any of us lived close enough to truly be a deterrent. You know, call each other up and do something. Something to not hear the siren call of the bells, whistles and flashing lights. I am off for a couple days, and I wish you all gamble free days, and dreamless nights.-Atticus

" Ya'll know that I'm a HELL RAISER and DEVIL CHASER so I have a challenge. All the money that we save between now and then will pay for the trip to Topeaka. Everytime we get triggered, let's think about Kansas. I too imagine what you guys look like. Until recently, I turned down all request for friends. I said, "I'm not here to make friends!" Plans change. Our minds change. Our heart changes. Today, I'm open for whatever blessings GOD has for me, no matter the form. We can do this! I'm game! Praying for all my FRIENDS. God Bless "

" Yvegas,

OMG...what a spirited, adventuresome response! What the heck kind of transformation is happening before our eyes here VEGAS?!?I am in with both feet. Interesting that this has resurfaced, because I had already let go of the "1st Annual Reunion" concept. In its place, however, I decided I could do another cross country road trip (did it twice wth job transfers) and see if maybe I could make a few stops with DS friends along the way. The possibilities are endless...the rewards? Priceless, I'm sure!!

Timbuktu, Kalimazoo,
Would venture the highway
For the privilege of meeting you!

I'm in said the Myna Bird! "
