15 Days Gamble Free!

View More Posts Ignore
I hate counting the days and I won't lie, it has been a struggle but I am proud to say that I am 15 days Gamble Free today! I wouldn't say gambling hasn't crossed my mind and I came once or twice close to giving in but somehow, I managed to have the willpower not to give in to the temptations and fall into the trap all over again. It's only been 15 days but I know I am on a great start with my recovery.

If I can do it, I know you can too! It's not easy but it's worth trying for sure! Believe me, there are a lot of things you can do besides gambling your hard earned money. As for me, I turn to sports, running and tennis, I watch tv, listen to radio more often and spend more time with my family. There are countless ways but it all truly begins with yourself. You have to have the courage to change and fight the demons inside you. I have accepted the fact that I am a CG and that I am sick. Hence, I am doing all I can to get better.

I wish you all a wonderful recovery and may God bless us all! :)

" Fantastic Luv2...

It's so inspiring to see posts like yours...I can feel the energy of your conviction coming through my keyboard. Awesome Job, young man-keep that positive force alive. My little quote right under my "I"m Feeling" smiley faces for now is this:

"I am seeking, I am striving, I am in it with all my heart"

I can tell you are too, with every fiber of your being! What a great start...keep that same intensity every step along the way...you'll go very, very far and have a wonderfully rich and rewarding life.

Be well, be Strong, Luv2!

" Hi LuvtoTravel,
That's awesome, anything is possible when you put your mind to it!!
Also you want to do it, you want to change your life, and you are!!!
Its been since mid-April for me, and I'm still trying to catch up financially, however the fact that I'm catching up mentally to my life means everything to mean - the more time that passes the easier it becomes to live gambling free. I won't lie and say I have had no thoughts, but much less than I thought I would. I have so much else to focus on and yes I need to take care of me, etc. however what has made my life and world more fulfilling is having others be part of it!! Gambling had made me a loner, I wanted to be alone so much more, and that's not healthy - love breeds love, happiness breeds happiness, and so on....being lonely and isolated due to the gambling had made me so unhappy and it brought on more negative thoughts - I feel free!! I have a way to go, however know so many of us can do it!! Congrats to you as well!
Best,
Niki "

" Hey, very proud to hear of your story.

I know 15 days may not seem much in the whole scheme of things, but it is a LOT to other CGs who struggle everyday. You should be proud, and don't let up!!! "
