Has anyone tried natural flushing?

I am new to this group and finding it very interesting to say the least. I hope everyone is well.
I just had my first gall bladder attack last night and was first diagnosed a month ago. While I was in the emergency room they wanted me to stay to get the surgery tomorrow but I told them I want to talk to my gastro doc. I did a search for flushing the stones and printed one out that had you drink 5 glasses of apple juice a day for 5 days; on the 6th day you don't eat but you drink 3 glasses of apple juice until 4PM. At 6:00 on the 6th day you take on tablespoon of epsom salts added to warm water; repeat this at 8 and 10PM. Also at 10PM you mix half a cup of olive oil with lemon juice and drink. Has anyone tried this or any other flushing method? If so did it work? I only have two small floating stones but my gosh the pain was unreal all night! I also read that you may never have another for months or you could repeat them frequently. I will be talking to my gastro doc tomorrow morning and let you know how that goes. I was supposed to have a cook out at my house this week end for Memorial Day but don't know how I will be feeling. Posted on 05/17/09, 08:05 pm |

I hadn't heard of this, but I know that apple juice always soothed a gallbladder attack for me. I take an herbal supplement made especially for gallstones and I still have my gallbladder 7 years later. Do a google search for stone free and you'll find it. Hope this helps, as surgery is not always the answer if you can heal yourself with other means.

BTW, I don't recommend the flush where you use the olive oil and lemon juice. I tried that and no doubt passed some stones, but it was the worst gallbladder attack I ever had and took me days to recoup. I think it is too hard on your body and could be dangerous if you are passing a large stone that could get stuck in the duct.
