Hi, I am new to this group. I have never really had heartburn or indegestion before. I had the usual heartburn when I was pregnant with my children but that would disappear after they were born.
About a week ago or longer I started to get really bad heartburn, chestpains , stomache ache and feeling like I had to vomit. At first I thought it was from something I ate but it has continued. I feel fine until I eat something then it starts in again. I have been taking Pepcid and Mylox but it hasn't helped very much. My doctor is out of town for another week or so so I could use some opinions. I have read everything I could get my hands on for Gerd and Heartburn. There are so many triggers and different products on the market. I was hoping I could find what works the best. Thanks so much. Nellie Posted on 11/09/09, 05:11 pm |

obviously MUCH best to see your doc, but I find the liquid Gaviscon is very good, coupled with Zantac, which can now be bought over the counter in the U.K. here, though dont know where you are ..... I have omeprazole from the doc as a rule and that is very very good, sometimes have to really edge it up a lot, but mainly have found out by trial and error what suits me and what doesnt. Good LUCK...take care....Cathrynn XXX

First make sure you have changed your diet. Keep the head of your bed elevated, I am sure you read about GERD and what not to eat and drink. Pepcid and gaviscon work the best for over the counter meds.
