I have had three biopsies performed over the last two years. Two have determined that I have Barretts Esophagus (short stem). My last biopsy cannot confirm that I have Barretts. It was done in a different lab, different doctors, different state. Has anyone ever heard of Barrett's Esophagus going away on its own. I am confused and don't know which hospital to believe...............................................

" Years and years ago when I first found out I had acid reflux, I had an endoscopy and was told I had a few barret cells and something else.
The next year aI changed gastrologist and went to another gastrol in a large city. She said she didnt find anything the first gastro said I had, The first one said I had something like a sphlinter ring, but she didnt see that or any Barrett cells. I started using aciphex and watching what I eat and so far no more cells. I thought it was amazing too that one said this and the other said she didnt see anything.
The difference is the first dr, he would do alof of them during the day then write down what he found and you would go back in a week.
This female dr, she did it then right when it was finished and you were awake she told you right then what she found,
That way there was no confusing patients or forgetting they actually saw.
Makes one wonder doesnt it about drs. "

" I have had the same thing happen. I had an endoscopy 8 weeks ago and then a repeat 6 weeks later. I was told I had Barrett's after the first one but told I didn't after the 2d one. I had also been told after even ealier endo. that I had Barrett's. I didn't think it went away on its own and wonder what is accurate. "
