" I have had Barretts esophagus for years and years take 2 prevacid a day ,my voice at times gets horse stress can worsen this and at night it can be like hell cannot hardly breath.Be sure you are going to a very good Gastroenterologist and he takes biopsies every few years .Before I go the right doctor and right medication my life was a living hell.Try to avoid spicy food sometimes with Barrettes what you eat or drink does not matter its more complicated than that. " I was just diagnosed with Barretts esophagus last week. Also esophogitis and gastritis B. No matter what I eat, I always get pain in my chest in the morning or just before I get out of bed and it lasts until about noon. (intermittent) I get horse infrequently especially when I talk a lot. I had an endoscope diagnosis. What do you eat? I am taking Zegerid and it hasn't helped yet. Does the pain ever permanently go away? I gave up wine, caffeine, spicey foods, tomatoes, all of which are everything I love. Any suggestions? "
