Well I have taken all these for mild heartburn and they pretty much take care of it, but if it is worse than mild... then I have nothing to take and don't want to take a prescription med for this if there is a natural remedy out there. Is there anyone?

Hey mom, on one of my posts in this group there is a guy/salesman who is trying to tell people about a natural remedy. I hope he writes back. But he sounds like a salesman. His name is NorthernJoe I think.

I'm not a doctor but from what I've read, Acid in the stomach goes out when it shouldn't because of certain things one does. There are several foods that one should NOT eat in order to avoid the problem. I was surprised to find out onions are in that group but there are other common things too, like coffee. Loosing weight helps, if one needs to. One booklet I read is from a drug company, either Nexium or Previced I think. Pharmacists are very helpful if you can talk to one, they give good information also. They don't try to push one drug or another, at least the ones I talk to, they just give factual information and advice.

NO CHOCOLATE,SMOKING,COFFEE,PEPPERMINT,ACIDIC FOODS, FRIED FOODS,TOMATOES,ANYTHING SPICY,SODA,DRINKING... ANYWAY THE ACID CREEPS UP TO THE HIATIS,{ SP} AND DUADIUM{ WHICH MOST PEOPLE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT}AND INTO YOUR ESOP. AND IT SITS THERE CAUSING THE BURNING.PAIN IN YOUR THROAT,CHEST ECT...AND MOST PEOPLE WILL VOMIT.THE TICK FOR ME IS TO TAKE THE MEDS,DRINK ONLY WATER 4HRS. BEFORE BED,NOT HAVE EATEN JUST BEFORE, AND HAVE MY BED RAISED UP ON BLOCKS SLIGHTLY TO ELEVATE ME. AND WHEN I FEEL THE PAIN.. I GET UP AND MASSAGE THE HIATIUS{ BY THE STERNUM} IT WILL ALOOW GAS TO COME UP AND RELIEVE PRESSURE..
