How long does it take for a PPI to give relief?

I have severe GERD and was wondering how long it takes for the radiating pain to my muscles to subside? I read somewhere online that it can take over four weeks for erosions to repair. I'm just looking to others with personal experience to give me their input. My situation is a bit different and will take longer to heal because I'm going through chemo, so I know I need to take that into account. Thanks!

" I have read that PPIs like Omeprazole take upto 4-5 days to take effect. For immediate relief, you can try Pepcid Complete. It has 10 mg of an acid blocker - Famotidine, and works well for me. Buy it OTC at your drugstore. Hope you heal well. "
