I am currently in a group home.
My mom hasnt been in my life in 10 years and my dad is currently fighting the system.
I know that it is hard now because I dont get any freedom but I know that in the long run it will all be ok. I have been in and out of trouble with the law and i finally got off probation in March.
I am now making A's and B's in school. Going into nursing when I graduate and planning on making a life for myself. My caseworker never answers my phonecalls and never does anything i need her to do but I still push on everyday with a smile on my face because I know that one day this will all be behind me and I will be the one with a life of my own. I just want to say that sure fostercare can take away everything. But the one thing they cant take away is your education. Make good grades and do good for yourself. Prove everyone wrong.
Dont feel sorry for yourself, get out and make a life for yourself.
DONT EVER GIVE UP.
It may suck now but it will ALWAYS get better.

" Thank you so much, Mindy, for your post! It has really helped me today! My husband and I adopted my son and we are having a lot of issues. I pray and I fight for him and we try to push him to do better in school. He has so much potential. He gets in trouble a lot. He is 12, going on 13. I worry so much about his future. So reading your post really and truly gives me hope. That in spite of it all, if he just makes up his mind, he can do anything he wants to.

You are an inspiration! I wish you all the best! You go girl! Great job! "
