Candida yest syndrome

Has anyone been told they have a candida yeast infection in their body? My daughters doctor sent us to a nutrition doc because she is having most of the symptoms of this candida yest syndrome. She put her on this diet to kill off the yeast. But this diet is next to impossible to be on. She has to eliminate all sugar of all kinds, no dairy, or wheat. Basically she can only eat meat and some veggies. The bad thing is that she has never liked veggies. It has been a battle since birth. She has been trying to eat them and drink the rice milk but just gags. So basically for the past 4 days she has barely eaten anything! That can't be good either. My friends keep saying "oh she will eat the veggies if she gets hungry enough" But she isn't two years old she is 17. I found on the internet a natural supplement that claims to kill off the yeast without the diet. I am tempted. I know if I asked the doc she would say "stick to the diet" Not sure what to do. Any thoughts?

" I am on that same diet, and it is difficult, though I am allergic to dairy and wheat anyway, and well over 17 ! That is such a hard age to do this, but the yeast takes over your whole system and makes you miserable, I am going to try Miracle Mineral Solution, as I do think it will be a great way to eradicate it. They have a website, and alot of reading, etc. It isn't a scam. THen, she can eat more of a varied diet. The diet she is on, is to detoxify the liver, to support her ammune system, and will help to kill the yeast, I've been trying this for a few months, and it isn't a fast cure, for sure! Make sure she is taking B complex and C and Calcium supplements in the least, so she at least is getting her vitamins to support the immune system. Try that Miracle Mineral or THreelac, is another, it's a probiotic also found on the web, seems to have rave reviews. Hope some of this helps, Holly "

" Also, just to add my personal experience, I had a burning sore throat for months, thought it was my food allergies, and evidently, it was thrush which had gotten into my esophagus and I absolutely could not swall0w any food for 10 days, had to have an endoscopy and was put on dyflucan, which only partially helped. So, I can agree, if she can't stick to the diet, at least try to get her not eating white sugar, bleached flour, keep her eating whole grains, and try not to eat yeast containing products, like vinegar, cheese, etc. Also, High Fructose corn syrup is terrible, and its in alot. I cook all my meals from scratch with brown rice flour, and fresh veg. I too am sick of the vegetables, I drink 60 oz. of water a day, no caffeine, no alcohol, no sugar. It's very very hard so I can't imagine it at 17, there's got to be a better way! Tell her she has to eat, though, or if she looses too much weight fast, that also puts a strain on the immune system and then the candida will just flourish again. Hope any of this helps. Holly "

" Thanks for your support and advice. I we are working on staying on the diet but a bit modified. It may take longer but like you said Foodfermenter the total deprivation is next to impossible. I wish my Daughter had more patients. She is still craving sugar. Does anyone know how long before she will feel a tiny bit better? She is about to start her period and her pain really kicks in then. That is probably a Candida symptom too. "

" Hi; She is craving sugar because the yeast in her body is screaming for it, if she could just resist it, it does eventually taper off. Also, eating meat sometimes seems to cause a sugar craving. Ask her to try maybe a peach or strawberries, which are better than the sugar. Even though they turn into sugar, it's not as bad. It took me a few months, and only after I had my food allergies diagnosed did I feel a little better. I started taking Miracle Mineral SUpplement yesterday, and today for the first time in almost a year I actually woke up with energy. "

" Thanks for your support and Information. It all makes sense. I talked to her nutrition doc on Monday and she said we can add some fruits to her diet. I hope it helps. So far she hasn't seen any change. But she isn't a believer yet. Although I do see a slight change in her mood. She seems to be a bit happier. Maybe a bit crabby because of the diet. But over all better. I just would like the pain to be better. The doc took her blood and they say she is very low in vitamin D so I have to pick that up now too. Her pain gets way worse around her time of the month. Have you had that too? Thanks Amy "

" I had the same problem and now my 23 yr old daughter has it. Like your daughter she isn't big on veggies..........she loves all the things that feed it not to mention she lives in the city with two roommates so she eats out often.

I personally had to learn how to cook meals that where gluten free, dairy free and low on sugar.

check out my blogspot........@

http://glutenhurts.blogspot.com it may help, I have recipes and more...........

" Thank you ICish for your thoughts. I will check out your blog. I ordered a book called "Allergy and Candida cooking made easy by Sondra K. Lewis." Her doc recommended it. I am hoping to find some recipes. "

" I am 29 and have it as well. It has been quiet the job to stay on the diet. One thing your daughter can try is Stevia the liquid form into her unsweetened rice and almond milk. Rice cream has a lot of products like rice cream bars and rice cream. Veganaise in the blue jar is really good with some chicken and dill spice. Banana, blueberry, vanilla almond milk, ice and some drops of Stevia make a really good smoothie. Also Whole foods makes an organic peanut butter called 365 with no sugar and boy is it good. Bio Nature organic gluten free pasta elbows are really good so she can have pasta, drizzle some olive oil and any spice you can handle over the pasta. Those are just a few things I eat to make it threw. I am allergic to just about everything so for me it's a diet I have to stay on. There are some candida cleanses out there but she should really change the food too. She can do it! When you have to get off these types of foods you feel like crying like your loosing someone. I know I have been there. There are a lot of bread recipies out there and muffin etc I have some but not ready next to me. But on the internet you can find some.
A lot of B complex has hidden yeast in it. Hope some of this helps! Good luck "

" Forgot to add you can look up Syndrome X and Leaky Gut syndrome. Sometimes the yeast gets so bad it spreads out like a tree branch and opens small area for food to get into your blood stream causing food allergies. This is what I have. "

" I would read some of the books out there on candida. They no longer recommend that Atkins-like regime, because nobody can stick to it. You can kill the yeast using caprylic acid, garlic tablets, cinnamon capsules, and all of those beneficial germs in the acidophilus family. Ask the doc about a prescription for Nystatin or another antifungal to move the process along.

Sugar is a definite no-no but she can have moderate amounts of unrefined grains, like rolled oats. It isn't healthy to cut out all grains.

You might also find that her loathing for veggies -- which can be caused by the candida, which only wants sugar -- gets better as her candida gets better. "
