Can't stop eating cheese

I think I'm close to calling it an addiction. I just can't go a day without eating cheese. I have been diagnosed with casein protein allergy (few years ago) but have never been successful at avoidance. It makes me bloated and gives me digestive issues, i know it makes me very spacey and tired. Right after I eat cheese my heart races really fast. I have some ulcers that I know would benefit by my avoiding cheese (food allergy irritates ulcers and so does milk).
I have no problem avoiding milk. I prefer Almond Dream anyway. I have no problems avoiding processed foods with milk in the ingredients. I like replacement sour cream and cream cheese better too. It is just cheese I can't stop. Even if I can cut down to once every 5 days my symptoms get much better but I can't do it lately. My will power is shot Does anyone else have a problem like this, and feel really addicted to their allergen? If I lived alone I would just not bring cheese home but my husband likes it so I can't do that. Any advice? Posted on 05/21/09, 05:05 pm |

Friend had that problem - he was allergic to dairy. He was a vegetarian and dairy was the big deal, everything was cheese and butter.
He was grossly obese, like smokey the bear, and had girly boobs. He found out about the dairy allergy, quit eating it, and dropped all the weight without even trying. He showed up at my door and I did not recognize him until he spoke. Good luck, cheese is very addictive for me too. Follow Your Heart makes a great monterey jack vegan cheese, it's a bit more expensive, but it melts, only vegan cheese I've ever liked. I was vegan for 6 years or so. Good luck!

OOh! Thanks so much for the advice. I have tried quite a few substitute cheeses but all I have tried have been very gross. I will totally hunt down your recommendation. I really appreciate it!!!

Your husband should be supportive! Not having it in the house is key. You're going to crave it until it is out of your system. Let H eat it at work, and then brush his teeth.
