I was wondering if anyone else with food allergies had the experience of their hands swelling after touching foods that they were allergic to. Is that possible, or just a coincidence? It's happen since i was a kid, but I never connected it to allergies.

Thanks

" I get that sometimes myself. Benadryl handles it though. "

" YES, this happened to me for a long time before I had tests conclude that the foods causing this were hefty allergens for me.

I don't handle foods I can't eat anymore. I can't even be around them when they're cooked.

If the family wants bacon, they can go out to eat without me. :) "

" Sure, you can get a reaction just from touching a surface the food sat on. "

" Oh yes. I do not touch anything I am allergic to. I went in to anaphalatic shock pulling basil (allergic to it) out of my herb garden.

I went in to a mad itch from head to the bottom of my feet.

My allergy technician told me the histamines come out of our pours and even if we shake hands with someone who ate one of our allergens it could provoke a reaction. We had to get our histamines calmed. "
