i used to be the same way as a kid. I was born with all kinds of food allergies that went away as i grew older.
Keep her away from candy and artificial dyes, citruses, red and orange colored vegetables and fruit and see if it gets better. I also remember my parents saying that calcium supplements helped a lot.

I would look into an anti-inflammatory regime for the poor kid. There are a couple of good books out on the subject. It's about removing certain fats and other pro-inflammation irritants and rotating everything you eat to not only expose you less to things you react to, but to clarify what is causing the problem. It's a pain but it really helps.

Get her to a gastro enterologist to be tested for Non Tropical Celiac Sprue and DH. These can cause your daughters symptoms. The treatment is a gluten free diet.

Check out things that you use daily. Take away something and see if that works. she might have other allergies from food. Do you have any cats or dogs? or birds? Keep tract of what she eats, use for personal things. make a log and time. And keep tract of when it gets worse. Do you have any bendryal? can get it on the counter. they have benadryl cream, capsules and have liquid. Try things with sensitive for skin. Use things that are dye free. taking a bath with oatmeal ingredients sometimes helps also. I have lots of allergies and bendryal helps some for the itching.

You don't actually have to use detergent if you wash with a machine. Most of my loads I just wash with plain, cold water, unless there are stains or something. My son is very sensitive too - he even reacted to the Whole Foods detergent.

Well, my ezcema is aggravated by dairy. If I have ice cream, I can be expected to scratch. If I have cheese..forget it. Even when I drink Lactose Free Milk, I am still scratching. I tested not allergic to dairy, but inflamed I get, over and over again.

I agree with nasalbone. I've had allergies since I was an infant with reactions that have included skin disorders. One reaction came from the carpeting that I laid on to watch TV.
Since then I hve discovered an allergy that I never heard of before. My friend's 20+ daughter has an allergic reaction to metal which includes a skin reaction/eczema. In her case she can not eat ANY food that is cooked on a metal surface. ALL her cookware/bakeware is glass. Once you find the source of the problem it makes it soooo much easier to treat. My food allergies and intolerances drove me nuts for several years but now for once I have control and it is a great feeling!

My son gets a rash with sulfites. But I know gluten senstivity can do this also. There is information about damage done to the wall of the colon that is a direct response to our skin. you might look into that. I was tested for gluten senstivity and it didn't show up in me. But I feel sick if I eat wheat and staying off wheat is a sure test for me. Feeling better.

A major problem with going thru MDs to address a problem like this is that they only test for the common things. They don't test for something nobody ever thought of.
She may also be allergic to something she's never actually touched in her life -- I tested allergic to coffee and I've never drunk or eaten it in anything -- so that's somethign else to bear in mind. Oh hell, just buy her a good, used spacesuit and be done with it.
