Joint pain and allergies

I've been dealing with joint pain since I was 25 (I'm a month away from 40 now). Over the last 2 years its gotten a lot worse very quickly. Been through doctors and tons of blood tests. The docs have different opinions, blood tests show nothing. I do have a confirmed allergy to seafood and shellfish. (Its been about 4 years since last test for that).
Is joint pain really related to food sensitivity or allergies? Arthritis doc insists there is no connection but she also said I may be suffering so much due to stress/ lack of sleep. I need somewhere to look......

" Check out this website it has a little video showing how food sensitivities effects the joints http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php... (next to the little people press play). Also don't forget even food additives, preservatives and dyes can cause a reaction. "

" I had a bad doctor for many years. I went to her with all sorts of crazy complaints, including arthritis. Mostly she considered me a pain and a nutcase She said that arthritis at 22 was sometimes normal and there was nothing i could do but take ton of ibuprofen. Luckily I ate bread on an empty stomach one day and got very very sick (this doc said that wasn't possible either) so I went to an allergist (even though she said i shouldn't). She took me off wheat and what do you know, haven't had arthritis in 6 years. Hmmm...

Also haven't seen that doctor in 6 years.

Trust your gut and don't be afraid to change doctors! "

" I get angry when I hear/read when people are told their pain is all in their head. My daughter has been in pain since she was 10 and she is now 17. It is a long story but she started out breaking out in huge hives and while we were working with an allergist for that the pain started. They never related the two. We have been to 15 doctors and most after tons of tests basically told us that the pain was in her head! We finally found this Environmental Doc and he has found that not only does she have a thyroid problem but she has a candida yeast problem. I guess that isn't exactly a food allergy but they are saying that by eating the right foods she will feel better. We just got this news so we are working on a menu to start this diet. This Candida problem is widely over looked by doctors. And it causes joint pain. among tons of other symptoms. I am also going to check out the video. I hope you feel better. "

" Thanks to everyone that has been commenting. I've been using flaxseed oil and avoiding red meat which some say have an effect. It does help some but I'm really thinking of chasing down my allergist. The arthritis doc is nice but not doing anything at all but saying I just have normal aches. Yeah, right. It helps a great deal to hear from other people and to have options to look into. Thanks again... "
