I have a host of allergy "diagnoses", but I'm still swelling up, feeling bad, itching, etc. I have had serious reactions to a number of things that didn't come up positive in RAST tests, but I've been told to avoid them anyway.

However, my diet is pretty limited as it is - I'd like to know if it's the foods themselves or some additive I'm not picking up on.

How would you approach this?

My allergens, as they stand are:

beef
pork
all dairy (cow, sheep, goat)
shellfish

unofficially (but for sure)

peanuts
fish

unofficially and not really sure

corn (corn chips are messing me up)
cooking oils (?)
soy (soy sauce)
wheat (can't tell if it's the sandwich fillers or the *sandwich*)
egg (had a big reaction)
chicken (preservatives/lactic acid or the chicken itself?)
tomatoes (mouth problems)
onion (mouth and throat problems)

Any thoughts are super helpful!! :)

" I have an actual egg allergy and have tons of food sensitivities and to like the same things as you, corn~ can create severe allergies for people who are sensitive to it, the safest cooking oils are olive and sunflower, soy sauce~Me too I have no clue why, wheat~I have not been able to eat bread in 3 years without having an issue I think its sensitivyt to the wheat and chemicals in the bread (find out by going to a local bakery that makes the bread from scratch and ask what they put in it, chicken~I can only eat organic chicken (smart chicken from Big Y) I think many people spray the chickens with something, tomatoes~I can only eat them if they are organic (they spray regular ones with things to make them look fresh), onions~try leeks instead. I had a test called the ALCAT test which is environmental toxins and food preservatives or something like that and I came up positive for like 13 out of 25 things like red & blue dyes, preservatives and fluoride. If going to a regular medical doctor does not resolve your symptoms you can try NAET therapy with a naturopathic doctor and they usually practice nutrition also to help expand the things you can eat. Anyways I love this website http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php... and then click on allergy avoidance diet after reading that page. Also I find eating organic has let me eat more foods. Last of all millet , quinoa, and buckwheat (which is not wheat at all) are all hypo allergenic grains, but I have a problem with millet. "

" The book I'm reading right now says to try to eat just the pure food, not one that may have something added; not easy to do in some cases. It also said to try something you would normally eat with the peel on peeled; also try it cooked to see if that makes any difference - wouldn't do this unless reaction was mild to start with. Book used apples as an example; if wax is applied to the peel, it might be the wax instead of the apple; could be a pesticide on the skin, etc. "
