Has anyone had any luck with hypnosis? I'm considering it, but I'm curious to see if it's even worth it.

" I tried hypnosis a couple different times and never had luck with it. Of course it is different for every person, but you have to stay completely focused and can not get distracted by outside sounds and actions while being hypnotized, so if you can shut out everything around you then you may have better luck with it then I did, because I can not shut out outside distractions.
I hope this helps, like I said it did not work for me but everyone is different.

Good luck, and if you try it out let us know if it worked or not. "

" I love hypnosis! I haven't tried it for this particular disorder yet because it's one of my lesser issues, but it works well for me for other things. It took me a while to figure out how to make it work. I am too critical of a hypnotist's language to go under much... but I found that if I put a CD of the session on just before I fall asleep and use headphones, miraculous things happen. It's weird, because I wake up at the end of the session where the guy tells me to, but I have no memory because I'm really sleeping.

A cheap way to try it out is check out the MP3'S at
Instant-hypnosis.com. You can download them pretty inexpensively, burn them to CD's and listen when it works for you. Headphones help. Another similar avenue is to check out hypnosis CD's or MP3's on Amazon.com. Good luck & do it more than once... like 3 or 4 times a week for good effect. "

" I've had a great deal of success with hypnosis.

I searched around the internet for mp3s because I couldn't really afford to hire a hypnotherapist and they worked very well for me. I bought a couple of mp3s from different sites, one was from the above mentioned Instant-Hypnosis.Com, the other was from HypnoBusters.Com.

Both had good sound quality but I preferred the one from HypnoBusters because it was shorter and therefore easier to fit into my schedule.

You have to listen to the mp3 regularly for a month or two but I definitely recommend at least trying it. I felt a definite improvement in my willpower and my appetite was reduced. "
