" I am a member of OA and it has saved my life! Go to OA.org and see if you can find a meeting/phone number in your area. You can write me anytime about the program! My name is Veronica and I am a sugar and food addict. You can also write me at ronir@aol.com. Best, Veronica "

" I am a compulsive overeater too.

OA is a volunteer run thing and in our state it does take many days for someone to respond to messages because they have to wait until a member is available to answer the message, I assume it is the same in other areas. Don't feel discouraged that you have not heard back yet. The idea of going to oa.org and just finding a meeting near you sounds like a great idea. I just found the nearest meeting to me online and just started turning up. I found it a very gentle and inclusive group even though it was personally intimidating walking through the doors the first few times.

I also get alot of inspiration from http://www.therecoverygroup.org even though they are not an oa group they have online meetings for eating disorders similar to the face to face oa meetings, except they are online meeting, they are every 3 hours so when there isn't a real oa meeting to attend and I need the support I also go to the online meeting there.

I have found the things that I have been most ashamed of were things that others at oa and theresourcegroup.org could relate to which helps deal with some of the shame and guilt for me so that I can at least stop eating rather than the cycle I otherwise find of eating rediculously and feeling guilting so eating to remove the feelings of guilt.
