" I say find something that you like to do as a hobby, and, keep yourself busy for a while. And, also call up a friend, talk online to someone, read a book, go for a walk, whatever it takes to get yourself distracted from overeating. And, no your question does not sound daft. It is a normal question that people ask all the time. Hope all this helps you in your quest to stop overeating. "

" Here are a couple of things I try doing whilst I'm actually eating - it's switching off at that time that I find hardest. These sound obvious, but when you're a food addict, they're pretty difficult to do, as I'm sure you know.

- Don't stuff yourself. Take a gap between bites and go slowly.
- If you've feel too full whilst you're eating, you've already overdone it. It takes 20 minutes for your stomach to communicate to your brain that you're full. Try to stop eating before you feel completely maxed out.
- Eat with others. It's less tempting to gorge if you're aware of other people.

I admit that I can't stick to too many of these myself, but when I do, I definitely find that I don't overeat/binge as much. "
