I want to stop the eating at night! I'm new here!

I placed my computer upstairs in my parents apt so I won't be near the fridge. I have a lot of chronic pain and food allergies and I start at night for comfort and can't stop. It was so much easier when I lived alone. I never would buy my triggers. My brother brings in a lot of snacks(especially the ones I'm allergic to which I crave!) I've asked him to place these items in his room several times but he refuses. He has bipolarschizophrenia and diabetes. I ruin all the hard fitness work I during the day. My winters are really bad. Please help! Smooches!

That is one of the problems on here... I mean I'm usually on here looking for a solution along with everyone else but I don't have one. I know that with God all things are possible so I'm going to brave that God keep me away from cards today (simple sugars/breads/etc). There, we'll see how that goes. Now I need to find a carbless snack for before I go to bed because if I don't plan I know I willend up sugar binging tonight. Good luck doll! I'm right here with ya!!

evening are tough for me as well. I can go all day and not feel like eating but come evening I could just eat eat eat. I have turned myself on to popcorn as an acceptable munchie, I can eat a lot of it for a few calories of course it has to be plain! Not the micorwaveable buttered stuff! I also like to have a nice drink so I am working on something tasty with low calories

I try to plan out my days food the night before along with a couple of snacks at the times I know I will need them. I find that if I have written down exactly what I will eat in the portions then it is much easier to just accept that it is not on my food plan and so not eat it than it is if I am just kind of working food in my head.

I love the advice of reply # 4. I don't eat so much at night but I am home alone all day and that is when I will eat. I like the idea of planning the night before and writing it all down. I find my moods are up and down with being in menopause and when I feel like that it is so hard not to comfort myself with food.

Hi Everybody!
I am new to this group as well and am excited about it! I am also a night eater and I tend to indulge in carbs. i find that if I eat a good snack at 4:30 which is an hour before I go home it helps. I should probably load up on carrots and salad at that time and lots of water. Any else do this? I am also trying to replace the white carbs with other healthier carbs like brown rice and quinoa as I tend to eat those in much fewer quantity. Thanks for everyone's support!

I have found keeping my hands busy helps, and that's why I am on the computer a lot. I also journal. Nights, and home alone are my worst times too. I like the idea of popcorn. If you can't stay away from munchies, try to find some that are minimal calories, and drink lots of water(I drink Crystal Light a lot too).

These are all really helpful tips! I like the idea about the meal plan and eating a snack right before you come home from work and food substitutions and such. Night time is my very worst time too. And I'm realizing that I can't ever have sugar again because it's too slippery of a slope for me. If I even eat something sweet, even if it's reasonable, it's too much, I completely lose it and totally binge until I'm so sick and my body and emotions are really distressed. It's hard to think about giving up sugar forever, but some of these ideas are helpful. Thanks!
