" Hello and welcome to DS. Also congratulations on your sobriety. If I may I would point out two things. One, concerning the beer gut; now that you are not consuming beer, you will naturally begin to slowly lose the alcohol weight and "bloat" that comes with it. Second, it occured to me that if you have succeeded in your goal of sobriety, which is no easy task, then you most certainly have what it takes to succeed in your fitness goals and the determination it takes. You should be commended for this.
I dont have the book you mentioned but you could try Amazon.com I get alot of used books from there for cheap they might have it. There are many websites and some "youtube" videos of pilates exercises that are good to work the midsection. That way you can watch the video clips and see exactly how to do them by watching the instructor, plus its like having a workout trainer in the room with you! I found a series of videos on Youtube that I play as Im starting to work on my midsection too. Type in "alisa wyatt fitness" she has lots of videos and there is a stomach series, check it out and see what you think, but dont forget to ALWAYS stretch before doing any type of workout, I pulled a butt muscle couple weeks ago and coundnt do squats for a few days plus I walked funny which was a field day for my coworkers.....
Good luck I know you can do it.... "
