It has come to my attention today that even if i do get in shape and keep up or surpass those who are athletic in their activities that muy limp and difference in muscle mass on my right calf would be too much for those who are athletic. thoughts?

" o.k. you have to get into shape were you feel comfortable.. if there are people out there that don't accept you that is the wrong group for you.. not everyone fits into every group..
when you are satified w/yourself you will find a group of people who accepts you for who you are... (that incl. the limp being a part of who you are)love comes at unexpected times...
while you are getting into shape you will find a group who will be doing things similar to you and find frienships ....
Just don't worry so much... accept yourself and others will too...
I hope this helps... "

" Chris - you have got to stop obsessing over this - it's consuming you.

I am a very active, physically fit woman. I run, Hike, Kayak, bike, swim, fish, camp, sail, and if I ever get to see snow again, ski. I also have 2 very active toddlers that go with me on almost all my adventures. I could care less if my partner had a limp, if that person wanted to do the things I love with me, I'm happy, if that person can keep up, that's great, if not, I can slow down or we can do something else.
My partner is not as physically fit or active as I am, and you know what? I still think she is the most beautiful wonderful person I know. If she wants to join me on a walk or bike or go swimming she does. We just notch the pace down and enjoy being together. There are a ton of other things we do together too, but we also have separate interests.
If you are looking for a "real" woman - she'll enjoy some of the same things you do and want to do some things on her own and you'll meet in the middle.

Would you automatically dismiss a girl who couldn't physically keep up with you all the time? It sounds like you can keep up with the best of them, just with a limp and one smaller calf. No biggie. But you have to be okay with you first before you can think about finding the girl that can be okay with you too.

I hope that helps. I don't know if it's the answer you are looking for, but it's all I got for you. "

" makes sense. no... im not physically fit yet... my pain dr doesnt allow me to work out currently. im only allowed to do push ups, side crunches, hammer curls and regular curls right now. its important that she be active because there is a more rapid rate of muscle atrophy with the muscles effected by cp. like i have said previous i cant just go to the gytm 4-5 times a week and expect to keep my muscle. " It doesn't sound like anything that anyone says to you on this post will help you. You are angry and not even listening to what others are telling you. Women want confidence. Whether you have a limp, cane, prosthetic etc. You also sound like you have very high expectations for the women you date. Maybe you need to look deeper than how athletic she is, like her heart. Fitness is great, and physical attraction is important, but you will turn people off with a bad attitude more than with a bad limp. "
