Are there any suppliments that anyone's tried to really help with the cortisol issue? I took an adrenal suppliment a while back, but didn't seem to help.

" Don't bother with over the counter stuff that claims their product lowers cortisol. Since cortisol is created in your body by stress, you can lessen it by relieving that stress, through yoga, exercising, breathing techniques, and meditation. If you want a weight loss supplement to help you out, you should see your doctor because all the over the counter stuff is heavy marketing and lite on results. "

" Thanks soul...I guess like everything else, there is no magic pill. All my fat sits right in my belly, it's awful. I know it's the stress, just need to manage it better. "

" Have you actually done the 24 hour cortisol saliva testing to see exactly where you're at? "

" I got my tesing kit online from

http://www.pureprescriptions.com/p...#

I'm so glad I did. My doctors refused to test me. I got this test and found out that I had severe adrenal insufficiency. I took my results to my doctor. He put me on supplemental cortisol right away.

Making too much cortisol in your body puts the fat on your belly, but, even after your adrenals crash and burn going to the opposite (hypoadrenia), it's hard to get rid of that belly fat. Supplementing with DHEA helps with that. I use a cream by LifeFlo.

It would be good to find out where your levels are at different times of the day to get a detailed view of your adrenal function. You could have a bloodtest at the Dr.'s office and the result come back in the normal range for at that time of day and then in the afternoon or night your cortisol could be too high or too low. It's good to know what's going on so you can address it properly.

Before my adrenals crashed and burned (when they working overtime-hyper) the only cortisol reducing supplement that seemed to help me was Cortislim. I didn't lose any weight on it, but, I did FEEL much better.

1,000mg L-Carnitine a day is a potent fat burner, metabolism booster, cholesterol reducing, adrenal loving (supporting) amino acid. L-Carnitine has helped me alot, too.

Hope this helps! "
