" yeah I totally agree with lapetite. Going the natural healthy way is best and while it may be harder, you will be thrilled with all of your progress.

be strong and dig in your heels. Work out hard and eat healthy. "

" I think for people who are obese that anything that is Dr. approved for weight loss is a great way to boost weight loss.
People who aren't obese should stick to normal diet and exercise.
Check with your Dr. and if you are severly over weight then why not try something that may get your body in gear.
Hugs and Good Luck! "

" sadeygreen,

The problem is the albuterol is not FDA approved for weight loss. It is only approved for bronchodilation in cases of asthma, emphysema, bronchospasms, etc. The only off-label use I could find is treatment for hyperkalemia in dialysis patients.

Doctor's sometimes do use medications for their side effects instead of their desired effects. But I'm thinking that albuterol used for its weight loss side effect would be a rare case. When using a drug for side effects, one must weigh the other potentially harmful side effects against the desired side effect. Is it worth it? "

" I have asthma. I use albuterol. The thought of taking it for anything other than controlling an attack - yikes. The stuff makes me vibrate. I can breathe, but flutter, flutter, flutter (that would be my hands on my lap).

For weight loss? What? I'd be circling the light fixtures. No thank you. "

" I have exercise & allergy induced asthma and have Albuteral for just such cases. I agree with "Monkey" about the side effects, in fact my Albuteral does cause me to have tremors, anxiety, headaches, & dizziness. So just be careful :) "

" **Same here....I have asthma, which is set off with heavy exercise. Doctor orders one puff before extreme exertion...sets me to shaking every single time. "
