Advice:
Knee pain

Hi, I workout every day but have just started running again. I run twice a week but now I have pain in my right knee. It does not hurt when I run\walk etc only when I use the stairs.
Am not sure if I need to stop running until it gets better or if I need suport or different trainers? Any advice would be good thanks :-)

" Where exactly does it hurt on your knee? Maybe if you could describe what you feel and where, you will get some replies.
My right knee was horribly painful on the inside and a bit below the kneecap. It turns out I had a badly torn meniscus so I got it trimmed and the pain's gone.
You may want to get a dr to look at it. There is nothing to be gained from waiting until it hurts just to walk never mind walking up stairs. "

" Based on my own experiences, I would have a dr look at it. You could be doing more harm if you put off having the problem addressed.

I waited too long and needed surgery. "

" Knee injuries can be tricky due to the many things that can cause them. You don't have to completely stop doing cardio though. First get it looked at by a dr. Then instead of doing the strenuous running try the bike and even the eliptical both are better for your knees. I personally enjoy the row machine and you get more of a full body workout. I have had the same/similar sounding injury but mine would also lock-up when I walked sometimes. I now take a vitamin that has proven to really help with it and it hasnt bothered me in weeks!!! So.. Good luck and hang in there! It will heal and don't be discouraged AT ALL!!!! sometimes our bodies tell us to slow down but never stop!!! :) Good Luck and keep me posted :) "
