" Hi girlie4721,

I can't tell you about justification for money 'cos I'm not good at it. But in my case, after my DH and I had remodeled our house (spent more than $70,000), we'd a surveyor to evaluate the value of our house and it's actually worth less than what it was prior to the renovation. It was a bad investment at that time or even at this time, I guess. Still, we'd to have our house remodeled because the roof was leaking and the electrical work was worn out. Besides that, one of our bathrooms had a large hole in the wall (don't how it got there), so we had the bathroom redone too.

I just wanted to share my experience with you. "

" I think certain types of remodeling and additions to the home can increase the value. What kind of blinds are we talking about? If it's just venician blinds inside the house then it probably won't increase the value. "

" Only you have enough of the facts to know whether or not such an investment is cost effective. Will you get a good enough return on your investment? Can you be sure of being able to rent it out? I don't know how hard this economy is hitting situations such as vacation rentals.
Good luck!!! I hope that it turns out to have been the right thing to have done!!! "

" We own a small bookstore, and it's always a struggle to decide how much we can afford to spend on stock and improvements to the store itself. We've managed to stay alive for six years now, so I guess we're doing okay. Good luck with your rental. "
