I am just wondering...and be honest....how many of you have ever "borrowed" birthday or Christmas money from your child?

" Well fortunately I haven't ever been in a position, yet, where that was a necessity. But if we were hungry, I'd talk to my son about donating to the grocery bill. I wouldn't be above doing that.

I have asked my son to use his birthday money as spending money for a trip he was taking, say, to the pool with a friend. I feel a little bad about that, since the gift giver wanted him to go buy a toy with it, but I figure if he wants 2 ice creams at the pool, maybe he should use his birthday money for it. "
