Advice:
Possible future problems with FD
Watch this

I was diagnosed in February with FD of the femur and had a biopsy operation one month ago to check the growth wasn´t malignant. I had the results back yesterday and it wasn´t cancerous, simply FD.

As I am only 22 I was wondering if anybody knows if I will have any problems in the future with this. I have read many things on the internet including that it could turn cancerous and deform the bone.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. Kate

PS. I would just like to say how nice and kind the consultants/surgeons have been.

" I was diagnosed when I was 15 months old. The only trouble I have is with headaches and some bone pain. I work out every day so make sure you take care of yourself that is very important. I just visited a doctor in Portland Oregon all is great. They stated is was around my optical nerve but that is is usually pretty friendly around it. I would advise that you contact the NIH, National Institue of Health and speak with Marilyn her number is 301-594-0844. She has been with the NIH and has studied this disease for years and years. She is very knowledgeable and can give great advice. "
