After extensive research and at the endorsement of my medical insurance co. I began taking a B12 supplement along with Magnesium 150mag and Malic Acid 600mag daily for energy. It's been 3 weeks now and I notice a tremendous difference. I'm going to start taking them 2x a day as is suggested. It's so much easier to tolerate the pain when you don't feel completely run down. Check with your doctor to see what dosage you should take.

I subcribed to the magazine Life Extention which has a laboratory and makes all it's supplements in Ft. Lauderdale. For $75.00 you can become a member, receive a huge hard back medical book and a great monthly magazine. You also receive something around $125.00 worth of free vitamins or supplements.
The nicest thing I like is that you can call them toll free and speak with counselors or Physicians and they will go over your symptoms and give you a protocal of supplements they reccomend. I was told definitely to be taking the magnesium and Malic Acid. If anyone is interested in learning more about Life Extentions you can email me personally and I can send you more info. The majority of staff are physichians have gotten away from the "basic" pharmaceutical drugs and use top quality products. They even have a great new wrinkle cream and I have sold skin care for years and when I lived in Florida was on the Home Shopping Network as a model for different skin cares and this new one they offer is absolutely top grade. My personal e mail is BrownIzz7943@aol.com. Some of you may have read or heard of Suzanne Somers Bioidentical hormones in her several books. Life Extensions does a full Female and Male Hormone Panel and as woman, we all know that if our hormones are messed up that can even effect our Fibro. It's definitely worth your time and I look forward to their monthly magazine. It is dedicated to helping all of us to live longer and healthier and not by strictly using name brand drugs.

I see a doctor who works with traditional as well as alternative medicine.
I am now on very large quantities of Vitamin D, Magnesium, Iron supps, calsium/Magnesium (this is to alter the effects of straight magnesium....back door trots no fun) and folic acid. I have never felt better. sinse I have been takingall the alternative stuff..I have bee nthe best I have been in years. Still ahve bad days..but I tend to bounce back much quicker. ***Word of caution though*** Please check with your doctor before starting any of these alternatives as there could be contraindications with other medications you may be having. Please take good care.. Donna xox

I am a huge advocate for managing fibro with vitamin and mineral supplements and regular pilates/yoga style excercise. My flare up of today was partially due to the fact the I was careless with my supplements last week. Read from fatigued to fantastic (check amazon.com) for exact recommendations on supplements and dosages

Oh yes.. I am on mostly supplements and only two prescriptions (one for thyroid and the other for sleep, which I hope to take out soon).
I take Vit. D, Calcium/Magnesium, Probiotics, Maitake, and stumbled upon another source which I will know more if it is a fluke or really works. I bought "trim N Kleen" kit from a Health Store nearby and after only taking for a couple weeks. Last week, all week I actually felt "normal". Didn't feel the stiffness, achiness, etc.. There are 3bottles, One is Phsyillium Husk, Herbal Blend and the one that is really doing the trick for the sensories, is Passion Flower. I stopped by the health store and also mentioned this to my massage therapist who is well versed in alternatives. AND the Passion Flower helps with stress and tension. So, but it helping the body to relax, the body, the endochrine system isn't on overload. I still stretch and do what I need to do, but the pain level is pretty well gone. I am going to watch this closely over the next month and if it all stays on track. I am going to be shouting this to the world! :) I stumbled on this portion by accident! I still have stiffness, but it doesn't ache/hurt like it would. What a difference.

For sleep, I've been using L-Orithine found in health food stores. It's great, and if taking one is not enough you can up to 2 or more until they work for you. It relaxes my muscles great and when I do wake up at night I go back to sleep immediately. It's an amino acid. It doesn't have the grogginess that some sleeping pills leave you with.

I read a Book titled What Your Doctor May Not Tell You about Fibromyalgia The Revolutionary Treatment that can reverse the Disease R. Paul St.Amand M.D., and Claudia C. Marek and am following the Protocol within the Book. It tells to take Guaifenesin and how this drug can actually reverse Fibromyalgia. I have been on the protocol and Hypoglycemia Diet (see Chapter 5) and have made gains in my recovery. I also take Malic acid and Magnesium, Vitamin D3 and B100 complex which all help a lot!! I wanted others to know about this book and be healed as well! Walking and Stretching regularly is also essential. Diet is only necessary if you beleive you may have hypoglycemia also. I would like to help anyone if they try the protocol and need guidance.
E-mail me at MicheleYelverton@netzero.net and give me sometime to reply or call 904-314-6026 I only get to check the internet at the library 1 time a week.
