This is my first post here although I've been lurking and reading for a while. My rheumatologist started me on a new drug that has me flying high.

By that, I don't mean "stoned". I mean happily amazed.

I have fibro, chronic fatigue, irritable bowel and hypothyroidism. On top of the stress of that is that in the past 2 years, I literally ran several states away from an abusive husband, married the only man I ever really loved even though we had not seen each other in 33 years, broke my foot, tore soft tissue in that same side ankle, tore the cartilage and had surgery in my left knee, had several surgeries and other procedures, including oral surgery in which I had titanium implanted in my jaw.

For me, the hardest part of all the truly awful symptoms has been the fatigue - although the &^% irritable bowel is, shall we say, trying.

I take a pile of drugs ... Has anyone else noticed that all of the drugs we take, have, as side effects, diarrhea, constipation and weight gain. So when is someone gonna come up with a drug that causes weight loss??

Anyway, This morning was the first time I have taken this new drug, Provigil. And, today has been the first day that I have not wandered around in a fog, exhausted, feeling like I had cinder blocks attached to my legs and arms and looking for a place to take a nap.

I don't feel jittery or high or anything like that.

I just feel like ME.

You might want to look it up on and line and ask your doctor about it.

Best wishes to you all.

" Hi, I have been on Provigil for about three years. It saved my life. Do you know how much Provigil cost for a thirty day supply? It cost over $3,000.00. My copay is $40.00 for three months supply.

I guess I have gotten used to it now because the fog is worse than ever and I can take it and sit down in the recliner and sleep for hours.

Good luck. I felt just like you did when I first started. Some days it works good but when I am having a bad day, I could take the entire bottle and it wouldn't help me. Peggy "
