Hi, I like your picture of u and your husband. How long u been married? I took lyrica for my fibro, which I thought would be the answers to my prayers. Lyrica was a horrible nightmare for me, as I have tried all drug from hell and back.

I had this condtion since 2005, and I was on 9 meds. I am on 3, that are the greatest in the last 2 months and I get nerve blocks in my neck.

I hope Lyrica works for u. I took 1 capsule and I was hysterial crying, vomitting, bouncing off walls, total downfall--Recovering was a long process from 1 dose.

I don't want u to be afraid, you could do wonderful on it. I hope u do.

I have a great rheum. My goal for progress was 18 mths it has been 27mths.and I also moved out of the city to reading, pa. and being in love helps.

Well I started it last night and haven't had any problems so far other than being exahausted. Could be that I haven't had the issues b/c I take Lithium for my bipolar disorder.

Thanks for the compliment about the pic. We got married in February of this year.

I take Gabepentin, which is a version of Lyrica and I love it! My niece has also been diagnosed with fibro and she was prescribed Lyrica 2 months ago--she also loves it. just my input, fwiw, lol

My doctor told me he wanted to put me on it but that it causes weight gain and I just lost 20 pounds and that took me forever...ahd to have medicine to lose weight. I don't want to take it because of all the bad things I have heard about it evne though it works pretty good for my mom.

I am currently taking Lyrica 300mg total. I was diagnosed with Fibro about 2mths ago. Before i was able to get off my couch or do anything for that matter. Since taking the lyrica i am doing much better, still have some pain but not as bad. I also take cymbalta 90mg for my Fibro. My dr says he can go up on my dose of lyrica if needed. Just started with pain management dr this past week. I love my Lyrica and has been a life saver for my b/c i have 3 kids.

Gabapentin and Lyrica are two different drugs. Gabapentin is the generic name for Neurontin, while Lyrica's generic name is Pregabalin. The two drugs are VERY similar, and no one has been able to clearly explain to me the difference in what they accomplish. My doc just took me off Gabapentin (Neurontin) and put me on Lyrica (Pregabalin) and I can't say as I see any difference. They both will lower your pain level, but you pay the price in side effects.

My dr. also put me on Gabepentin several months ago. Then just this past Monday, I had an appointment, he asked me if being on that had made any difference...immediatley my answer was NO!..and that it had only made me gain almost 25 lbs...(just another reason to be depressed, as if the pain was not enough!!). He told me to stop taking it...he said "it was a last ditch effort". He also told me that both Neurontin and Gabepetin are actually prescibed for "epilepsy", but some Fibro suffers have found relief from it. Guess I was not one of them, and I wanted to believe so badly that this would work.!!!

Neurontin and Gabapentin are the same thing. As I wrote above, Gabapentin is the generic name for Neurotin.

Lyrica is Pregabalin...Pregabalin is the generic for Lyrica

I find there's very little difference between the two drugs as far as side effects go...they both have some nasty ones, including sudden weight gain.

I took it, the first week I had dizziness and eye pain, but it took away alot of the fibro pain. After 2 weeks they didn't work anymore and I had to increase the dose from twice a day to three times a day..and I took them for another month, and I gained 10 pounds, even though I was eating SmartOnes frozen dinners and low fat foods.

I wish it kept working on me. I wish it did not cause weight gain. But, it didn't work for me.

I know it works for some people, so give it a fair chance and let us know if it works for you.

I have been on Lycria for about a year. It works wonderful for the pain and helps me sleep and has caused my memory to leave me. I can't remember what I did two minutes ago. I just had a cat scan run to see if anything could be seen in my head to cause memory loss. Nothing showed up. I have done research and have found out that memory loss is one of the side effects.

Do I take Lycria and be pain free or do I quit Lycria and get my memory back? Good question.
