Has anyone had any success with these treatments? I've gone through so many treatments and meds in the last 10 years and have evolved into researching alternative treatments. Massage really hurt at first, but then I began to feel better, but had to stop because of the cost. I know it will be the same here because of INSURANCE comapnies (don't get me started!) I'm willing to try almost anything now; however, but I'm trying to get more info before pulling ou my wallet :(

" I'm having acupuncture for my insomnia and it's made a huge difference. My benefits are almost up so I bought a book on acupressure and do that between treatments.

I don't know about reflexology but you can always buy a book through a used bookseller like on Amazon for a greatly reduced rate and see if it helps you. All you're out is a few bucks, usually less than an insurance copay.

For pain you might look into trigger point massage for chronic myofascial pain as it goes hand-in-hand with fibro. I use the book featured at triggerpointbook.com along with a two-headed percussion massager and have gone from being in pain 24/7 to being pain-free a good 80% of the time. "

" I have been doing acupuncture. It has helped. It is slow and expensive, but drug free. Be prepared for an initial 4 or so visits. If you are carrying a lot of pain, it will get worse as it starts "moving" and then will get better and better. You can space out the treatments after the four: two weeks, three weeks, 1 mo. Every month is sort of maintenance. Be aware, that you need to work other treatments with this, like yoga, water exercise, other alternatives, vitamins. The idea is to unblock the blocked chi and free it to circulate and nourish the body. So, diet is very important. My naturopath also suggested I try a cranio-sacral massage therapist, which I will next month. (probably.) Hope you are better. "
