Hi guys..
For the last week and a half I have been having a rather nervous anxious energy running through my body.. like the night before a huge exam or waiting for results.... and its there 24/7 and impacting on the little sleep that I manage to get..
it keeps me on high alerat at the slighest unexpected sound or movement gets me react in a panic..
I am wondering if anyone else experiences this or knows what I should do?
I have had an extremely stressful year but at the momemnt there is nothing specific weighing down on my mind..
I do medidate and try relaxation techniques daily however the feeling remains...
any help would be soo greatly valued..
Butterfly hugs (esp from all the ones floating in my tummy ;P)

" Get a low dose of xanax or similar benzodiazapine from your doc. You are already doing yoga and meditating, which is great. However, you may just want to take xanax, 0.25 or 0.5 mg. It takes the edge off. (Take more and you will sleep. 1-2 mg is a "sleeping dose.") You will get over this phase. I went through this too. You may also consider a counselor. Listen closely to your thoughts, what are you subconsciously telling yourself? You need to accept reality without "attachment." Counter unproductive thoughts with this Buddhist saying about worry:

"If there is something you can do about a problem, no need to worry.
If there is nothing you can do, worry won't help." "

" Yes it's going on right now.I'm pretty sure a lot of us get this,I can't remember lol. When I first got it, it lasted for weeks at a time and it's the worse when I wake up.Now it's only been going on a few days and driving me crazy.Try stretching and yoga exercises, helps relieve the tension. It makes me feel like I'm shaking on the inside and I did use to actually shake/tremor,not bad but enough to annoy me.Take hot showers/bathes because that helps to relax the body too.Sorry you're feeling like that. " NO. Don't ask for xanax.. while it does infact take the edge off, it's very powerful and habit forming.I have been on the stuff for 18 motnhs now.. and wish to god I never started. I don't even take 1 mg per day.. and really it does not help all that much. Now I'm stuck having to go through a slow tapper under my docs care to get off the stuff. Talk about other methods with your doc. I'm sorry yur going through this. "

" Hey Sweetie~

I too have recently fallen into the anxiety pool. And I feel like I have little tremmors or shakes at times.

I'm on a low dose xanax right now. And I just take 1 little pill and it goes away. It allows my brain to shut down some, yet I can still fully function.

My doc started me on this to see how much of it I need. If I only need it "on occasion" then xanax is the right drug of choice. But if I need it more than 3 times per week, then we will take me off the xanax and put me onto something else. "

" If it's not that bad, you might try L-Theanine before you go for the hard stuff. It's been shown to reduce mental and physical stress. It will also help your immune system.

Check it out. It's not expensive at all. "

" i've been helped a lot by a therapist who deals with folk with chronic illnesses. she's been a great support. we all need support with this illness. someone who understands us. it's hard to lose the abilities we once had to cope with life. it's hard being dependent, too. as i am more able i am less anxious. getting pieces of my old self back, bit by bit. " I have it right now - you cannot tell where the vibration is. some people say it is a strong symptom of hyperthyroid if you are thin get your Thyroid levels checked - TSH, T3 and T4 not just TSH.
the fight or flight reaction is possibly your adrenals there is also a test for that. in my unexpert opinion you need rest (HA Ha I rest all day and never get better) "

" well...you are doing the much needed relaxation...to STOP the Initial attack...but are you Then burning off the adrenaline & Cortisol that is already running thru ur Blood ?? is an Important step...otherwise your Body just stays on Ready Alert !!

get Busy...work it off...Dance, power walk, Super scrub a tub !! Anything to get ur heart rate Up and that stuff USED Up !! this takes doing..just as tho you had an actual threat in front of you...you have to react to get it burned up, like you would if facing a true enemy !! or you will just stay on edge,. " They say that anxiety is part of fibro. I feel like this when I am stressed and heading for a flare. I like herbal remedies before trying meds. Valerian root is good for relaxation, also good for muscle relaxation. It's smelly, but it works. It's the herb they synthesized to get valium. Also kava kava--good for when you keep thinking about things and that keeps you awake or makes you nervous. Wouldn't recommend the two together, though. "

" im sorry youre feeling this way so often. i can relate.

i am on a low dose of valium, just started a few months ago. it does help with anxiety, plus it helps with relaxing the muscles. if you do start an anxiety med just be careful as they are very addictive. "
