Hello everyone,

My name is Crystal. I am 26 yrs old with a 7 yr old daughter. I was diagnosed with fibromalgia march of 07 after a long search and still searching for answers or any kind of relief. I have tried several different forms of treatment with little or no help in reducing my symptoms.

Basically, I joined to connect with people that I can relate to. I know I am not alone in this and always try to stay optimistic. I have several ups and downs.

I had to quit work in january of 08 because I just wasn't physically strong enough to go on. I am hoping and praying for relief so that I may be a valuable part of my family's life in that I could be able to participate more in activities. I have missed several years of my daughter's life and family is the most important thing to me.

Well that's just a brief introduction. I hope to make friends here to share in your journey's as well.

God Bless,
Crystal

" Welcome to DS Crystal ! I'm always sad when I hear of such young ladies being diagnosed. I'm so sorry to hear you had to quit work. Your pic is beautiful ! We are all in this together ! There are many very knowledgable ladies and gentlemen here who will support you and totally understand what you are going thru. I was glad when they finally diagnosed me so I had a name to this disease I could research. I'm also a nite owl. (Noteing the time of your post.) Unfortunately, I think it's common for us to miss out on valuable time with loved ones. I find no rhyme or reason to this disease. HUGS ! "

" Hi , I just registered today... I am 25 and I believe I have fibromyalgia...doctors have diagnosed me with all sorts of things one of the options being fibromyalgia.
I am actually writing this msg from my bed on my laptop as I am in terrible pain because I had a massage this morning and now cannot stand up.... I am trying to see the comical side of th situation!!!!!
I have also had difficulty keeping up my job because of symptoms so I understand how difficult it is to stay positive when it has such a big impact on your life... However, I feel positive and I am trying several things at the moment like a diet similar to gluten free diet and avoiding nightshade vegetables and its making a big difference.

" Welcome to the group, Crystal. I was diagnosed about 15 yrs ago with chronic fatigue and then got the FM diagnosis about 6 yrs ago. I have tried it all...different treatments, therapeis and medications. None of them offered me the relief that I was looking for. I had become a walking, angry, zombie who didn't care about anything...whether I ate or not, whether I died or not (not that i was suicidal but I just didn't care one way or the other.) I was no longer the positive person I had been for so many years.

So I chucked it all and turned to acupuncture, massage, chinese herbs and medical marijuana. I have used this course of treatment for about 5 yrs now and it works well for me. Don't get me wrong....it certainly isn't the cure....and there are never days that I don't hurt, but with the help of this method of treating the FM I am able to function and be more positive....closer to the person I once was.

Again, welcome to the gourp! Gentle hugs....

" I would not live without advanced ambrotose. The single most important thing that has helped turn it around for me. You can get it on ebay for cheaper price. www.glycoscience.com has more info. It helps your immune system work better. My husband notices every time when I go off it. I have resigned myself to staying with it for life. It's that good. I have less flares, more energy, sleep better, no constipation. Let me know if I can help further. "

" Hi Crystal,
Welcome to DS, and I'm sorry that you were diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed over 30 years ago. I'm not working either, I retired and then my hubby and I moved to Pa from NY. I'm fairly new here also and I hope to make some friends and I'd like you to be one. Hopefully also to find some more things out about Fibro. Take care of yourself, and if you want to send me a message, please do so. I hope that you have a pain free evening. I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Hugs, Dotti "

" Welcome, Crystal. This is a good place for ideas, information, support and understanding. Sometimes we get snappy, but that's because we have FM, eh? It's all good. Can't say I'm glad you're here, but you are definitely welcome. "
