" are you having tension headaches ?? the best cure I know for that is to get the neck muscles relaxed, and the best way I found to do it is Pool Therapy in conjunction with Massage Therapy !! Release the tension !! Your whole upper body will Love you for it !!

as far as the meds go, I could not tolerate either one, so I cannot Help you there !! I would Imagine each person is different on it tho. "

" cymbalta is an antidepressent it did nothing for me.

neurontin is an antisiezure and I had an allergic reaction to it

After what I've read on both I wouldn't recommend either one.

It's so hard to decide if the risks (side effects) are worth it.

After ten years of doing drugs (meds doctors prescribed) nothing has helped me.

I'm hoping they will find something with this XMRV virus that will really help.

Right now I feel like I'm playing russian roulette with drugs. The most resent med I tried for sleep, I had hallucinations of giant spiders on the ceiling above my bed. I'm very sensitive to meds.

Good Luck with whatever you try. Keep a journal of the amount and if you have side effects. Every year I get a print out from the drug store I use and make notes on that from my journal that way I can show the doctors what drugs I've tried, at what dose and for how long. My doctor assures me there are still plenty of drugs I haven't tried LOL "

" Have you checked your blood pressure when you have the really bad headaches.

I have high blood pressure and if I forget my meds it shoots way up and makes my head feel like it's going to explode "

" No, I don't think they are tension headaches, the pain is usually on the top of my head and it feels like it going to explode. My blood pressure is good, I have never suffered from high blood pressure.

The massage , pool therapy and meditation I have tried but I wake up with these damn things. "

" Hi, Headaches could be due to muscle tension in neck and shoulders. I recently had facet joint injections to both side of my neck. Although I have not had any difference to the neck pain it I know really helps some. Massage another good one.
I am on both Cymbalta for the depression and Gabapentin for the pain. Cymbalta been on since March and they have helped me cope better. Gabapentin on 4 weeks and has equally helped with the pain but have struggled more with my sleep. Waking maybe 5-6 times through the night. Not sure if it is connected with the new meds.
I also use a 'V' pillow when sleeping and have a neck collar which I will sometimes sleep with it on. Not recommended for daily use and not really during the day.
Hope this helps.
Hugs "

" I am on Cymbalta and have found that it has helped me with my pain but not my headaches. I have been on Flexeril for those. I also have not experienced the side effects of Cymbalta so for me it was well worth it. "
