I took a sleep study a couple of weeks ago and my results came back. They said I slept about 75% of the night, snored about 80% of the night, and had enough episodes of stopping breathing or struggling to breathe to say I have sleep apnea. I'll go for my CPAP next week. I was wondering how many people with fibro have sleep apnea- I have read that going without proper sleep can cause similar symptoms- do I have just sleep apnea- and that causes all this pain? What's the relationship between the two? Anyone know?

Sleep Apnea is dangerous...
My Husband HAS Sleep Apnea, and Refuses to do a Thing about it.. It CAN cause alot of Heart & Lung issues... It Can cause you to Not actually sleep...therefore Not actually heal from everyday traumas we do to our Bodies...and over the Long term ? yea..can Create Alot of Issues...cuz there is No Healing Time !! I Thought a few Weeks ago that perhaps I had Developed this Sleep Apnea..and I got Scared after doing the Research a few years ago cuz my husband has it so bad...but after doing some different things right before I go to sleep, I now Believe what I was going thru is something Called "Sleep Starts"...where when ur in ur Lightest Level of sleep you get the Falling or Tripping sensations..this can be brought on by unresolved Stress...which I Just so Happen to have ALOT of right now...so I make sure at night I am Good & relaxed, and I have not had an Episode since.. IF you have Sleep Apnea...get the CPap.. and use it Faithfully..Your Lungs and Heart will TY for it !! I Know it is a Pain in the arse to get Used to, but the difference it will make within your Life I Believe will be Immeasurable..Sleep Girl...and Sleep well...allow full shut down so your Body can Heal..Focus on all the Good & Positives this will bring to your Life, and I bet you get used to that little Machine alot faster.. Hope for the best for You !!

My hubby has sleep apnea, and before he started using his autoPAP, he was suffereing from exhaustion similar to mine....studies have shown that when "normal" folks' sleep is interrupted, they often develop symptoms like those suffered by fibrofolks....Soooo your symptoms might improve when using the CPAP...like Dakota says, it can be a dangerous condition and needs to be treated...
Good luck, and keep us posted on how you are feeling! HUGS from down south :)

I agree with both of these ladies. My fiance has serious sleep apnea. He was one of the worse case studies they have ever had. People have actually died of sleep apnea.
He has had a great improvement with fatigue as well as headaches. He was even falling asleep at work during lunch. He has greatly improved his life.
