Happy SPASM & Fibonacci Day, November 23, 2009
Fibonacci (or son of Bonacci) was a guy, who took an understood, and practiced, idea from India, called it his own, reintroduced it and got it named after him. ..the Fibonacci sequence WOW, probably ranks up there in the top 10, all time, great thefts...um, I mean Adaptations... [like the name America, instead of Columbia or Gutenberg Press, which was really used by the Chinese for ages or America itself, which was "discovered and claimed" while people already lived here or Victoria Falls....I could go on, but I won't The story goes that he was looking at a sunflower (although I don't know if sunflowers grow in Pisa, Italy....maybe it was some other flower with large seeds...anyway...) he was looking at the seeds in a large flower, when he realized....."WOW Jumping GeeHosiphats, Mother Nature is Mathematical!!!" ...or since he was Italian, he probably said, "Mamma Mia, Momma Nature Is A Fascinating Lady, I wonder if she can cook"? ********* (before anyone sends me a nasty note about stereotyping Italian men as wanting a woman who can cook, I am basing this character on my relatives..this is not really what Fibonacci said.] Long story short= 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21 etc....Is the Fibonacci Sequence... if you add the previous number to the 2nd number, you get the third number. 0+1=1, 1+1=2, 1+2=3, 2+3=5, 3+5=8, 5+8=13 and on and on. He found this sequence all over nature. Told everyone he knew about it....not that my people talk a lot or anything he he....and got credit for discovering it. Long story short=I think the Fibonacci sequence is pretty cool. I have a doctor's appt this morning, so have to get my body moving. Morning Sunshine & ladies!
My mind is still a little sleepy...okay numb. That's quite the math lesson. But you know I'll be thinking about this today and once my mind wakes up I'm sure I'll be trying to do the same around the house. D, that's great that you are still feeling so good. The happiness that brings me is over flowing for you! Yesterday I was kitchen and math dumb. I started making my chocolate covered cherries (as they need to sit for about a month to set and get liquefied inside) It seems that I tend to forget the vast quantity these things can produce from a single recipe. I quadrupled it...and I started it around 7pm last night. (I never said I was the brightest bulb on the tree) So, today, I have over 200 cherries wrapped in their little sugar blankets waiting to take a plunge into a vat of chocolate goodness. There were so many of them, my eyes were going blurry! But next year I think I need to tweak the recipe and add in some almond extract. Just a hint of almond...and then sprinkle a some finely ground almonds on top. So today, I will finish them and start on my white chocolate dog biscuits for the dogbutts in my life. D, actually they are gonna be gifts for the Teachers/ Therapist for the boys.
I'm gonna make Carmels next week and then I'll bake something too. I have between the two boys, 6 teachers and 5 therapists. I'm also thinking of making some beaded lanyards for them too....something pretty and sparklely for them to use with their badges.

The sequence you mention D is a huge part of the book, The DaVinci Code.
As for me...I got a little done yesterday around the house but not a whole lot. And I'm getting ready for work at the moment *groan* and don't have another day off till Turkey Day!

Good Morning, D and everyone!!
A SLLLLOOOOWWWWW morning for me today...we were up late each night this past weekend, and I am feeling it! Got to get myself in motion....we need to finish mom's floor, and as you know, there are always domestic chores to be done! Hubby is outside about to paint the new fender on the car....hopefully that bobo will disappear! D, have a good visit at the doc...soooooo glad you are feeling great. Wonder, I need to hire you to make goodies!!! They sound fabulous! HUGS to all from down south :)

I'm with you today Cajun,pretty slow.I had a busy weekend.Took my son and nephews and friend swimming at the Days Inn for my sons birthday.They had fun.Then cooked tacos and rice and did the Birthday Cake ect.I cleaned all day yesterday.I'm shot.My neighbor is off this week so we are going to lunch today.Can I go in my pj's??D,my sister brought over a 10 week old half choc. lab half chesapeak(sp?) Soooo cute!Looks like a baby Mr. Chips.I post pics later.My dog LuLu was worried it might be staying.She gave me the "look" like come on...I already have a dingus dog chica I have to play with!!LOL,it was too funny.Well I better try and get moving and get ready for lunch.Wishing all of you a good day!(((HUGS)))
