I choose to make this journey through Fibro life as chemical free as possible. I am extrememly sensitive to chemicals and I'm always afraid they will destroy my liver or some other important organ before it's my time to leave this earth. I want to squeeze out as many good years out of this lemon life as possible ! I use all kinds of natural methods from aromas, vibration, heat, sounds, stretches, food, crafts or distraction I can make up or do. I tried the pills my Auntie calls "numbies" and decided I want to be truely alive and aware to drink in my life and to be right here, in the moment, as I can be. Life is too short or too long, however you want to look at it ! I appreciate that this is not a death sentence but a crazy maze. I try to navigate through the pitch and roll of Fibro symptoms the best I can. It has been a learning experience that is ongoing. I wanted to thank all of you on DS who's infinite wisdom has guided me through some troubled waters. Who's support has helped me glide more smoothly through the trials and errrors of this rollercoaster ride I call FIBRO. I love all the ideas that are posted that I can try to make life more comfortable from people who are living it and not just reading it out of a text book. I'm very happy to find a support group I could join without the added energy robbing job of traveling. For all these things, I am truely greatful. Thank you all !!

Ouchy this is a wonderful posting!!! I too have gained a huge amount of knowlege from people actually on the front lines.
Even more importantly has been the emotional support and feeling better that I am not going bonkers, that others can relate. That has been so sacred. I want to add many of the people on here are nonjudgemental and that lifts my spirits and redefines to me what love is.

As long as you can cope without meds, that's great. Dr Titelbaum (google him) recommends many vitamin and herbal supplements and people swear by them. I incorporate them but also take meds. (My problems go beyond fibro, unfortunately.) Sometimes people forget that meds are only one possible component. I'd like to add to your list: meditation, yoga, pilates, chiro, massage, acupuncture, rolfing, jacuzzi hot tub, water aerobics, being out in "nature", pain psychologists, laughter, art and music therapy and support groups. I have tried all of these things and more with various levels of success.
