I was reading anoughter post and some one posted that during an exam thier doc was half way through and said they had had fibro for a long time. I never thought about the idea that a doc could tell how long you may have had fibro based off your pain spots. It sparked a thought about a comment the new rhumi I saw said that i had just kinda dismissed....

During his part of the exam where he was simply pushing on my joints and extending my joints, he made a comment that I was obviously in a flare. I off handley said actually its a normal day for me my flares are worse. I didnt give it much thought....

But do you think he actually could feel the resistance in my muscels letting him know I was in pain ontop of my responces? If so maybe one of the reasons he was willing to help me was because what he was seeing and feeling and the fact that I said that this was a good day???

The other thing which was by accident, was that I forgot my meds that morning. So I had all my wake up stiffness and pain from over night. SO everything was that much more sensitive. Maybe he was feeling what my body was like med free....

Can they actually feel where you shold have pain???? do the pain spots actually feel different in some one that isnt in pain? not just our responce to them?

" I think so. Cause if you are rubbing someone's sore shoulder for ex....it feels hard, knotted and somewhat swollen and resists movement and touch. Sore muscles, etc. don't feel the same as normal ones...they don't move freely...does that help? "

" The first time I tried acupuncture I mentioned that I was surprised that I didn't have to point out my trigger points. He said they were standing up waving flags. :) He found every point all by himself. People without fibro do not jump off the table when lightly touched. Try it with any of your friends who don't have fibro. The last checkup I had I was in tears before he was done pushing on the trigger points. I tried to hide it but he was fast and saw the tears welling up. "

" I had a blood test too that showed the rhum/arth, doctor that I did have something that was inflamatory within my system. Im sorry but lol cannot remember the chemical and the level they test for. Usually I know all this but (smack my forehead) not now. But there is a chemical that is produced more when you have inflamation. "
